The Bulletproof Mindfulness Training is an 8 session online meditation program based on the empirically-proven teaching principles of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training techniques, while also holding the intention and depth of this ancient contemplative practice’s true lineage.

How Does It Work?

The program consists of eight 60-minute online interactive training calls, combining facilitated group meditations with an optional additional 30-minute one-to-one discussion and feedback.

The first mindfulness training session commences at 10am PST on Monday, October 23rd, 2017. The 7 subsequent sessions take place at the same time on consecutive Mondays. To attend you will need to access a computer with a reliable internet connection. If you can't attend a call, not a problem, they will be recorded and made available to you.

Rod Francis has been teaching Internationally for almost 30 years and has been coaching & mentoring for over a decade. He has worked alongside the Bulletproof Training Institute’s director Dr. Mark Atkinson for a good part of that time, as well as trained with many leaders in the worlds of coaching, personal development and positive psychology. He is currently Head of Coach Training for the Bulletproof Training Institute.

Rod has also taught meditation Internationally for several years and has had a personal practice for over 30 years. Over that time, he has sat retreats with many teachers primarily in the Theravadin and Insight traditions and continues to do so regularly. His guiding teacher is Yanai Postelnik. He’s also attended the MBSR in Mind Body Medicine Professional training in the USA with its founder Jon Kabat-Zinn, the MBSR teacher Practicum with the Center for Mindfulness at UMass and Google’s Search Inside Yourself for Leaders program.

As the program is taught with a focus on coaching and working with clients, this can be of unique value to anyone in helping professions from coaches and therapists through to the aforementioned medical professionals. However, helping professional or not, anyone can and will gain enormously from the simple, effective and clear manner in which the principles and techniques are delivered in the Bulletproof Mindfulness Program.

Mindfulness is a keystone of deep contemplative practice; the many benefits have been well-known and documented by its practitioners over almost 3 millennia. It took the ground-breaking work of a curious young scientist and meditation practitioner in the mid-1970’s to first create a simple, effective method for bringing the ancient practice to a modern secular audience, and then to empirically test and quantify the results. That scientist was Jon Kabat-zinn and the program was his Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

While we are not teaching the formal MBSR curriculum, we have structured our training to teach the four foundations of mindfulness along the same core principles in a way that honors the ancient dharma roots while teaching a format that has been empirically proven to work. Of the more than 400 well-controlled mindfulness studies now published annually, for most the 8 week program is considered a gold standard in establishing measurable results. At Bulletproof we wish to teach what is proven to work, hence our own 8 week program.

Our senior teacher Rod Francis has attended professional training in the MBSR program (some with Jon himself) and has also had a long standing contemplative practice in the ancient dharma traditions.
